Lunch, Milk and Snacks

School Dinners

Hot meals are available each day. They are provided by Caterlink, who are specialist caterers for schools. They provide fresh, tasty and great tasting food with ample choice each day.

School dinners are free for YR, Y1 & Y2, as part of the free school meal government initiative.

For Y3, Y4, Y5 & Y6 the cost of school dinners is £2.82 per day. These prices are reviewed every September. Meals must be paid for in advance using Caterlink's online payment system. Each child has their own unique ID which is issued by the school.

Packed Lunches

Alternatively a packed lunch may be brought to school. They must be sent in a box clearly marked with the pupils name.

No glass bottles are allowed.

No sweets, but yogurt desserts may be sent.

Cool Milk

In line with the New School Food Plan Legislation, Sharnbrook Primary is now making milk available to every child within the school; this milk is provided through the Cool Milk scheme.

Children under 5 and those children receiving free school meals will be provided with free milk which will be funded by the school.

If any children over 5 would like to receive subsidised milk at the cost of 27p per day, you can register your child online via the Cool Milk website (www.coolmilk.com) or complete the form which is available from the school office. Forms need to be returned to Cool Milk and not to the school.

Healthy snack at breaktime

We have joined the Government scheme which provides a piece of fruit or vegetable to all Key Stage 1 pupils.

Other children may bring some fruit or a vegetable in to eat at morning break.
